Grand-Pré National Historic Site (Grand-Pré

Once a settlement of the Acadian people (French
settlers); learn about their historical significance in the region.
It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and visit Evangeline Beach
just down the road!
Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens (Harriet

Situated right at Acadia University, the
Harriet Irving Botanical Gardens hosts several native ecosystems, a
conservatory and the research greenhouses. If you need to stretch
your legs during the conference also visit the Woodland Trails just
south of the Gardens.
Kentville Bird Sanctuary (Kentville

A birder’s paradise! This 200-hectare sanctuary
is an important water fowl habitat, with numerous ponds situated in
mixed woodland and salt marsh. It’s also a great place for
naturalizing in general.
